Competition: Kids Curate!

Congratulations to the Point Chevalier Mindbenders!

The Point Chevalier Mindbenders have been awarded a grant to create a two-month temporary exhibition of their artistic interpretations of artefacts on display at the Navy Museum.

From start to finish Navy Museum staff will mentor students through the process of creating an exhibition. We will help students to become project managers, exhibition developers, artists, accountants, graphic artists and display technicians working together as a team to create an industry standard exhibition.

Students will visit the Museum and have a tour with our educator, then be invited to look for an artefact that they feel a reaction to. This will be followed by facilitated art session back at your school where our educator will help students turn their reactions into pieces of art, from paintings to sculpture to modern media pieces. Leading up to the opening date repeated visits to your school by our educator will focus on putting together the exhibition to showcase their work.
What will this curative class create?
