HMNZS OTAGO commissioned 22 June 1960.  The ship took part in regular deployments to the Far East, North America, Hawaii, Australia and the Pacific Islands for exercises with ships of other navies and showing the flag tours.  HMNZS OTAGO decommissioned 7 November 1983.
