Cigarette cards in albums.

Cigarette cards, found inside cigarette packets, featured illustrations on one side and advertising text on the other.  Issued in a range of subject sets (each set typically consisting of 25 or 50 cards), they were designed to be collected and swapped. They were first issued in the mid-late 19th century and were popular until the mid 20th century.

Popular amongst sailors, the titles of the sets inside the two featured albums include: Railway engines, Pirates and highwaymen, Beauties, Beautiful New Zealand, Victoria Cross winners, and Wonders of the World.
