The Navy Museum holds a unique collection of objects, many in storage, ranging from functional to ceremonial that represent a full range of events and experiences about the Royal New Zealand Navy.
Collections Store Relocates
The Collections Department is currently packing and relocating the bulk of its collection to a new store.
Unfortunately this means the museum is not able to accept any object donations due to the time, space and resources needed to properly consider and process acquisitions.
We will be happy to consider your items for our collections at the completion of the relocation project in mid 2011 if you are able to keep the items until then.
The work involved in the store relocation also impacts on the availability of other services including research and photographic requests, object loans and fleet trophy enquiries. Some of the collections, including the library and photographic archive, will be inaccessible during the last part of the relocation project. Therefore the Collections Department will only be able to offer a limited service to the public, RNZN and NZDF for the next few months.
