Cartoon shows the moving of the ship, HMNZS PHILOMEL, into dock on 2 November 1942.  At the time, there was a lot of speculation that the ship, over 50 years old and in service for NZ for 28 years, was to be made ready for sea to defend New Zealand from Japanese invasion.  The ship was in fact only going into dock for routine maintenance.
